Are you interested in making a difference in your community while supporting the children play a sport they love? Are you a student that needs to complete volunteer hours for school? Whether you are looking to volunteer regularly or occasionally, we welcome parents and community members to be more involved within our association. Hockey Saint-Laurent is a volunteer association and our success is through the hard work and dedication of those who give their time to work with our players and association.  We have many volunteer opportunities available during our season and encourage each family to take up a volunteer role within our association.

Please complete our volunteer application (volunteer form) to let us know how you would like to contribute. We greatly appreciate your interest in wanting to be more involved with our association and make a difference in our player’s hockey experience. If you have any questions on what you can do to help out, please contact us via email today at volunteer@hockeystl.com

Volunteering to be a Coach is a great way to give back to the kids and support more than just their hockey development. Assistant Coach (course/certification required)
Each year we have a number of Head Coaches looking for help running their team. If you would like to volunteer to help out a Head Coach, your role will vary based on that Coach’s needs. You will likely be a support person to help run the bench during games and facilitating practices for the entire season from September/October to April.

Team Manager (course required)
As a team’s manager, you will have a number of responsibilities for the entire season from September/October to April. They may vary depending on your team’s Head Coach and what they delegate to you. Some responsibilities typically include; scoresheets, finances, team rostering, travel permits, and other administrative tasks.

Convenors/Coordinators
Needed at the start of the season in early September for a few weeks, reporting directly to the Director of Coaches, a Convenor is responsible for maintaining communication between the evaluators and the Director of Coaches as well as ensuring rules, regulations, policies and procedures are followed by the bench staff, players. A convenor also oversees the selection of teams, as well as the balancing of teams during the first weeks of play.
