The U7 division (formerly called Pre-Novice) is for kids who are 5 or 6 years old. Hockey Saint-Laurent also offers limited spaces to 4 year old children provided that a parent accompanies the child on the ice. This program introduces basic hockey skill development and coordination and seeks to build a love for the game. Players do not have to know how to skate to sign up. The program focuses on:

• Skating forward and backward
• Stopping, starting, turning
• Puck handling
• Basic hockey rules
• Building friendships and learning teamwork skills
• Recreational fun games

The sessions begin in November and ends in February. U7 will usually have 1-2 practices per week with games beginning later in the season.
